Content revised 21 October 2026.

An RSS feed exposes updates in a machine-readable format so readers or services can follow new content. Publishing a feed and embedding another feed are different tasks.

Check your own feed

Open the relevant feed and inspect the entries, dates and links. WordPress supports feeds, with presentation and settings depending on the installation. Decide whether subscribers need an excerpt or the full item.

Embed with a purpose

The WordPress RSS block can display items from a feed. Use the current editor workflow and check rights, attribution and destination links. An incoming feed does not automatically supply original editorial value.

Avoid ranking promises

Submitting a feed to many sites is not a guaranteed backlink or sales strategy. Focus on relevant subscribers and dependable updates. Keep the original website useful and accessible rather than relying on syndication as its only discovery path.

Official guidance: WordPress RSS block, WordPress feeds.
