Analytics offers reports and exploration tools for different questions. Start with the decision you need to make rather than enabling every available feature.
Understand acquisition
Use appropriate source, medium and channel dimensions to review measured discovery. Keep first-user and session scopes distinct. Campaign naming and correct tags improve interpretation without eliminating every attribution limitation.
Review pages and actions
Connect entry pages with relevant events and outcomes. Confirm the event implementation before drawing a conclusion. A page view, engaged session and completed enquiry describe different parts of the journey.
Investigate with comparisons
Use suitable filters, segments or explorations for the question and available permissions. Keep timeframes and definitions consistent. A more advanced report does not repair inaccurate inputs.
Maintain access and documentation
Keep the business in control of the property and record important settings. Review data handling and collection responsibilities. Use current GA4 documentation rather than treating an old Universal Analytics feature list as a current menu.
