Content revised 21 October 2026.

A white hat SEO proposal should explain useful, reviewable work. Compare the scope, implementation and reporting rather than accepting the term as proof of quality.

Ask for a website-specific diagnosis

The proposal should connect recommended work to your pages, audience and current problems. A new site and an established store with indexing issues need different priorities. Ask which findings are confirmed and which still need investigation.

Clarify what is delivered

  • Technical checks and who implements repairs.
  • Content review and the approval process.
  • Relevant keyword research and page mapping.
  • Reporting, account ownership and maintenance responsibilities.

Review off-page methods

If outreach or link work is included, ask how sources are selected and what commercial arrangements are involved. A promise of a fixed number of ranking links is not made safer by calling the package white hat. Keep records of the work you authorise.

Check evidence in context

A relevant example should explain the work, timeframe and measurement limits. Do not assume that a third-party authority score or an unrelated success story predicts your results. Ask how useful enquiries will be distinguished from traffic totals.

Agree practical review points

Document deliverables, approvals and how additional work is priced. Test implemented changes and use the findings to choose the next priority. The service should be accountable for agreed work without promising a fixed Google position or describing policy compliance as risk-free performance.

Official guidance: Google’s policy context.
