Content revised 21 October 2026.
When engagement changes, inspect the audience and measurement before rewriting the article. An aggregate rate can move even when the content stays the same.
Check the comparison
Review time range, page selection and source mix. A returning reader seeking a short reference may behave differently from someone arriving from a broad campaign. Keep the page purpose visible when interpreting the data.
Verify events
Check whether tags, consent behaviour or key-event settings changed. A duplicated event or a wrongly marked action can distort a report. Do not treat a measurement change as proof of a content improvement.
Observe the page
Read the mobile version and follow its links. Look for intrusive elements, unclear headings or a next step that does not fit the article. A short successful visit can be useful; longer time is not always better.
Choose one reviewable change
State what the edit should help and what evidence will be collected. Keep a source copy and record the release. Engagement is one part of the decision, not an automatic ranking signal or sales guarantee.
