Add the correct property, verify ownership and inspect the important URLs. Search Console provides evidence about Google Search; verification does not automatically index every page.

Choose the property scope

A Domain property covers the domain across protocols and subdomains and normally requires DNS verification. A URL-prefix property covers the specified prefix and supports the verification methods available for that property. Choose based on the access and reporting needed.

Keep verification under control

Use the business’s account and grant appropriate access to collaborators. Preserve the required verification record or file. DNS changes should be made carefully so unrelated email or hosting settings remain intact.

Check a representative URL

Use URL Inspection to review the selected URL and relevant indexing information. Investigate unintended noindex, access or canonical issues. A robots.txt block is not a general way to remove a page from search.

Submit and maintain the sitemap

Use the sitemap already generated by the website’s chosen component, such as Rank Math. Avoid installing overlapping plugins for the same output. A sitemap helps discovery but does not guarantee indexing or ranking.
