Content revised 21 October 2026.
A local-content audit helps you keep useful pages and replace repetition with clearer information. Review what already exists before creating another location variation.
Inventory purpose and coverage
List each URL, service, place, evidence and next step. Identify pages that answer the same question with only a changed location name. Keep a separate page when the business can explain a genuine difference the visitor needs.
Repair weak explanations
Replace generic claims with service scope, preparation details and real contact arrangements. Check whether photos, prices and availability still match the operation. Preserve useful search language while removing forced repetition.
Review technical connections
Follow navigation and contextual links, then inspect titles and canonicals. If consolidation is justified, plan the destination and redirects carefully. Do not remove an established page just because it has little traffic in one short period.
Assign the next action
Give each page a decision: retain, improve, investigate or consolidate with evidence. Record the owner and review method. A page-count target does not tell you whether the site helps local customers.
