A browser comparison should use current versions and the tasks you need to complete. Old market-share, speed and security-advertisement percentages are not a current benchmark.
Test representative tasks
Use the same device and comparable settings for work such as forms, video, administration and required extensions. Check accessibility, compatibility and resource use. A result from one setup does not establish a universal winner.
Review practical responsibilities
Keep updates and account security configured appropriately. Read current privacy and synchronisation settings when they matter to the choice. A browser is not the same thing as a search engine, even when it includes a default search service.
Choose maintainable compatibility
For a website, test more than one relevant browser and a phone. A feature that works in a designer’s preferred browser may still fail for customers. Choose evidence from actual tasks rather than a historical promotional comparison.
