Content revised 21 October 2026.
A page can be well written and still answer the wrong question. Review the purpose of the search and the information your page actually provides.
Identify the task
Does the visitor want an explanation, a comparison or a service they can buy? Inspect relevant results as research, then use your own business facts. Copying the competitor’s length or layout does not resolve a mismatch.
Make the answer visible
Use a descriptive title and main heading, explain the central answer early and organise supporting detail. Keep useful examples and conditions close to the claim they explain.
Connect the next question
Use contextual links when a related page helps the reader decide. Check each destination and its purpose. An internal link count alone is not evidence of a better journey.
Check access and outcomes
Confirm the page’s indexing signals and mobile usability. Review suitable query and enquiry data after a meaningful change. Search systems still choose results in context, so matching intent is not a guarantee of a position.
Official guidance: Google people-first content.
