Dropshipping uses a supplier to fulfil orders, but it does not remove the seller’s responsibilities. Review the product, supplier and customer terms before building the store.
Verify the supply arrangement
Check product quality, availability, delivery, packaging and returns with a dependable supplier. Use appropriate samples and records. The customer should understand the seller and the conditions of the purchase.
Account for all costs
Website, payment, marketing, refunds and customer support can create costs even when no stock is held directly. The original claim that an unsuccessful store loses nothing was misleading. Use business-specific assumptions and qualified advice where needed.
Check the sales channel
Marketplaces may impose additional requirements, including seller-of-record and packaging rules. A method allowed in one arrangement is not automatically allowed everywhere. Do not copy another retailer’s order flow without checking the applicable policy.
Test the customer journey
Inspect product details, order confirmation, delivery updates and support in a safe test. Start with a scope the business can fulfil. Dropshipping does not guarantee easy income or remove the need for ongoing work.
