Content revised 21 October 2026.
A campaign hashtag can organise a conversation or make a theme recognisable. It needs a useful message and an audience reason to participate.
Research the wording
Check how the proposed phrase is already used and whether it is readable, relevant and easily misunderstood. A keyword estimate alone cannot predict participation. Keep the hashtag aligned with the actual campaign offer.
Prepare participation
Explain what people are invited to do, which media they may share and who will moderate responses. Obtain suitable permissions before reusing someone’s content. Avoid a promotion that depends on artificial engagement or misleading claims.
Review the outcome
Choose appropriate measures such as relevant participation, visits or verified enquiries. Keep campaign costs and team effort visible. A hashtag cannot guarantee reach, a trend position or a Google ranking effect.
