Content revised 21 October 2026.
Old SEO trend lists mix durable foundations with outdated statistics. Review the underlying customer need before following a tactic because it was once described as new.
Keep the durable principles
The original list covered voice queries, featured snippets, mobile use, keyword selection and speed. Those subjects still deserve context, but its percentages and fixed loading claims should not be treated as current research. Ask what a change improves for the visitor and how it will be checked.
Separate features from requirements
A short answer can be useful without earning a featured snippet. Structured data describes eligible visible content; it is not a switch that buys that placement. Mobile content and functioning controls matter across ordinary search and newer search experiences.
Evaluate a new trend
Check the primary documentation, the pages affected and the implementation cost. Keep useful existing URLs and important media while testing. The best next action may be correcting an inaccurate service page rather than adopting another format.
Use evidence to prioritise
Record the observed problem, proposed change and review method. Compare relevant search and enquiry data after implementation. A yearly prediction is a research prompt, not a guaranteed plan for a position.
